Altamont Longhorns rally to ground Lyman Eagles

Jake Stevenson of Altamont dashes down the field in the Longhorns' win over Lyman, Wyoming last week in Altamont. AHS rallied in the third quarter to beat Lyman 21-18.

Altamont led 14-0 after the first quarter, but lost its lead and then rallied to beat Lyman, Wyoming 21-18 on Friday evening. AHS will face Rangely on the road on Friday.

Touchdowns by Zach Hatch (48-yard run) and Jacob Stevenson (13-yard pass from Jordan Benson) plus extra-point kicks by Benson and DeeJay Madsen had AHS up 14-0 after one quarter.

James Taylor – the runner-not-the-1970s-singer – whistled the right tune for three touchdowns with his final one (62-yard pass from quarterback Wade Eyre) in the third quarter putting Lyman in the lead at 18-14. Taylor scored on a three-yard run and 68-yard pass in the second quarter. AHS led at the half 14-12.

Kyle Foy scored the game winning touchdown late in the third quarter on a six-yard run to give Altamont the win at 21-18. Foy led the AHS with 119 yard rushing.
