Helper leads Salt Lake region

The Helper American Legion team continues to roll through opponents as they beat Tooele 6-2, downed Riverton 10-6 and toppled Highland 14-4. Helper is 14-0 in league play as of July 20..

Gage Bigelow started on the mound vs. Tooele and pitched a complete game. He only allowed four hits and struck out eight in the win.

Helper found themselves down 2-1 after the first inning. Back to back singles by Seth Tryon and Colter Moore got them started in the fourth. A couple of walks and doubles by Daulton Nelson and Dylan Vogrinec did the damage. Nelson had a pair of doubles on the night.

Helper answered Riverton with four runs to tie the score 4-4 after one inning. Josh Denison started on the mound and pitched a complete game to get the win. Jaren McCourt and Daniel Peczuh each had home runs.

Vogrinec started on the mound for Helper vs. Highland and pitched four very solid innings. Helper got the win in six innings because of the mercy rule for another league win. Keny Seals tripled and Vogrinec also added a homer for the offensive show.

Helper has an overall record of 20-3.Colter Moore, Daniel Peczuh, Beau Rich and Keny Seals of Helper competed at the American Legion all-star game in Magna on July 17.
