Semi on its side blocks U.S. 40 near Myton

A single vehicle accident involving a Basin Whole Sale semi-truck carrying fresh produce blocked the two eastbound lanes of Highway 40 just east of Myton on Tuesday afternoon. The driver of the semi,David Mangum, 41, of Blubell, lost control of the truck briefly, over corrected and laid the truck on its side, according to Utah Highway Patrol trooper Chad McCoy. Mangum was wearing his seat belt and had minor injuries but refused medical attention, according to McCoy. No other vehicles were involved. The Myton Fire Department worked to clean up diesel fuel that spilled out of the tank while the truck was on its side. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
