New York Fashion Week's spring 2027 season opens Thursday, Sept. 10, and runs through Sept. 15, with roughly 70 runway shows and presentations scheduled across the city. The week's most closely watched debut belongs not to a new label but a 54-year-old one: Diane von Furstenberg, where Henry Zankov unveils his first collection as the house's inaugural artistic director.
The role, created for Zankov earlier this year, is the first of its kind in DVF's history, part of a broader repositioning of the brand under chief executive Graziano de Boni, who has spent the past two years modernizing the label's identity while founder Diane von Furstenberg remains involved as chairwoman. Zankov previously worked inside DVF between 2014 and 2018 before launching his own label, ZANKOV, which won the CFDA's Emerging American Designer award in 2024. He gave an early preview of his relationship with the house last September, when he designed a DVF capsule collection sold exclusively through Bergdorf Goodman, a collaboration widely read at the time as a prelude to a bigger role.
A handful of designers jump the calendar
Zankov's runway show, set for 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 10, opens the official week, but several major names chose to show a night early. Ralph Lauren presents his spring 2027 collection Wednesday, maintaining his tradition of showing outside the sanctioned calendar on his own terms. Coach shows the same evening, marking its 85th anniversary, and Rachel Comey marks her own 25th anniversary at her show that night, alongside Cult Gaia and Libertine.
The rest of the week's marquee moments are spread across five days: Tommy Hilfiger returns to the Plaza Hotel, and Proenza Schouler and Tory Burch also show on Sept. 10; Calvin Klein Collection continues its closely watched creative revival on Sept. 11; and Khaite, Prabal Gurung and Anna Sui anchor Sept. 12. The week also includes Harlem's Fashion Row, the Caribbean Fashion Collective, and Fashion Bomb Daily's 20th-anniversary celebration, alongside the return of Public School New York, whose designers came back to the runway in February after a six-year hiatus.
New York's spring 2027 shows open the month-long fashion circuit, which moves next to London, Milan and Paris, before the new collections begin arriving in stores next spring.
